2012 March 8th: very average seeing conditions 4-5/10, and surprisingly good results. The 'boring' side of Mars with almost no surface features showing. This is an IRGB picture resized 80%. Taken around 23hr45 CET.

2012 February 21th: Very bad seeing tonight, and surprisingly adequate results.

2012 February 20th: Mars almost reaches opposition. During last night, the seeing conditions were moderate. This night the 'interesting' side of the planet showed up. The North pole ice cap is already smaller then a few weeks back.

The resulting picture made with the Maksutov:

2012Feb11: A new picture of Mars, showing the 'boring' side of the planet. Mars has a side with lots of features, like Syrtis Major and others. The other side of the planet has far less conspicious albedo formations.

On this picture, there are actually finer details visible compared to the picture below. There are less prominent albedo formations. Most interesting are the giant volcano's that dominate this side of the planet (Olympus Mons, Ascraeus and Alba). Another particular feature are the cloudes that are visible...
