And still not any higher then 16° in the sky. That’s like, behind the trees and the neighbour’s houses. The seeing for this session was worse then the night before. It does not show on the results.
Jupiter, culminating at 16 degrees above my horizon
The first time this season that I could image Jupiter, and an excellent opportunity to apply the skills of the Maksutov again. The seeing was exceptionally good, a very very rare occasion.
These are the images of the planet, diameter 46″ and Altitude 16 degrees.
The return of the big Mak
I purchased a brand new SkyWatcher Maksutov back in 2010, as a first scope after many many years of inactivity. Eventually I sold it to replace it with the C11.
However, the sharp and crisp planetary and Moon images, the great visual experience of this scope, the stability of the collimation, kept on haunting my scope addiction.
So it was a great day yesterday when I could re-purchase the same scope after 9 years.
