Comet 24/P Schaumasse and a Jupiter, Christmas 2025

Same image but harder processing

Comet Schaumasse is currently roving the vast galaxy-covered space of Coma Borealis, and hence visible in the morning sky. These monochrome images picture the little comet between the galaxies, barely distinguisable from a galaxy. The first image is tracked on the comet nucleus, where it appears more or less round, the second image is tracked on the stars, turning the comet into a fuzzy straight line between the stars.
