This night a bit later around 3 o’clock in the morning, with th eplanet even higher in the sky – 60°.
Transparnecy was very variable, so the planet was varying a lot in brightness during th e capture – even becoming invisible and then seconds later way overexposed. Difficult circumstances.
It’s really nice to see how the GM2000 mount slews from park position to the planet and brings it nicely into view on the small sensor!
When cracking up the brightness, you might notice the painting that has been done to darken the circumference of the planet. Because the smallest ROI during capturing brings the most data, the planet is really squeezed in a box. WHen rotating the resulting image, you get “overlap-lines” that need to be painted out.
