I finally changed over to an EQ8 mount, which is pretty heavy but also very stable and able to carry heavy equipment loading. The ‘old’ EQ6 mount was a very good mount but for astrophotography, at long focal distances, the results could vary. To have a consequent & reliable tracking going on, a heavier mount was needed.
